Setting the Mood with Candles
There's no doubt, candles create one of the softest and most relaxing moods in a room that you can get.
One fun way to put the soft light of candles into your decor is to make them yourself. The Candle Scraps is a fun project you can do alone or even better include your older children, and you can make candles that look like works of art.
You can make a candle out of anything - literally. If you have a favorite glass vase, ceramic container, even fruits and vegetables can be used. Just press in a wick and you will have a candle. It's fun to look around your room and see what items you can use at your next gathering.
Use an oblong glass candy tray as a glowing centerpiece for your next get together. Just clean the glass thoroughly to remove any finger oils or other residue and then press several wicks in a row about 2 inches apart. Put candle beads around the wicks that are available in 16 colors and just before your guests arrive, light the candles. They will burn slowly as only the candle beads directly around the wicks will melt. After burning, lift out the "used" melted wax beads when it has cooled, insert another wick and you'll be ready with another outstanding centerpiece at your next gathering of family or friends.
The candle beads are unscented, however if fragrance is desired choose from 10 scented oils, or mix up scents to come up with your own unique scent.
