A Country Kitchen

Nothing says cozy like a kitchen with a warm decor. If you are looking to make your kitchen a lot more comfortable and less like a room you just make food in, add a few elements that say "home" while keeping a look to your interior that is uniquely "you".

Most people fondly remember their grandparent's homes. Many people had grandparents that had farms or country homes and the houses were a throw back to simpler times and brought anyone that entered a feeling of being welcomed. A few country-esque items placed around even the most modern of kitchens will help bring an air of simplicity and easy-going nature. You can add warm fabrics to your window treatments. Go for an animal theme such as roosters or cows around your kitchen to add continuity to your design.

Items such as weather vanes or artworks are great additions to give your room a country feel. Other great details include crockery jars, storage bins and other items that can do a dual duty of both being functional as well as decorative. One item many people get a lot of use out of in their kitchen is a baker's rack. A simple wire rack that can hold extra pots and pans, cooling cookies or simply as a place for dishes you use often.

Use these tips and you can make your kitchen into a cozy country kitchen and have a warm place during the coldest months that are just around the corner!
